Records of the Sheridan Shore Yacht Club, 1922-2014. The Sheridan Shore Yacht Club (SSYC) was founded in 1923. In 1922, it operated under the name North Shore Yacht Club, but only for that year. The club grew out of the Evanston Boat Club. Its first home was in the studio of Benjamin Marshall on the Wilmette Harbor. In 1937, the club moved to its own clubhouse constructed that year. The clubhouse remains to this day, having undergone some additions and renovations. SSYC maintains necessary relationships with the Wilmette Harbor Association and the Sanitary District of Chicago. Therefore, there are considerable materials related to those organizations. This archive is comprised of: 1. Minutes 2. Correspondence 3. Sheridan Shorts Newsletters 4. Key Topics/Issues (file level) 5. Arrow Aroma Newsletters 6. Member Log Books |
