Eileen Johnston Papers, 1966-2000. Johnston began a career as an environmental educator in the late 1960s, after she saw how local bodies of water being used to dump waste. For over 40 years and organized cruises of Lake Michigan and other Chicago-area waterways. Three archival boxes of records. They consist of biographical data and research materials from the 72 cruises and 40 environmental education conferences that Eileen Johnston organized. The papers include data on water pollution, ozone, solar energy, solid waste and acid rain. Box # 3 contains scrapbooks that have had the covers removed, but have been kept in order in folders. The materials are arranged chronologically with the subjects indicated in the folder titles. |
