Honor Roll in World War, Wilmette (4 volumes). Red spine and corners, black cover, gold printing. Each volume contains brief, one-page biographies of men who served in World War I and who lived in Wilmette at time of entering the armed forces. Many entries include small (2" x 2") photographs in uniform (see sample of images). Gross Point servicemen are not included, because the Village of Gross Point was still a separate municipality until 1924. Bound in red and black leather, bands on spine, stamped in gold on both covers and spines. All the volumes have been scanned and are currently (as of 2020), on the Village O: drive in a folder labeled "World War I". See a sampling of photos of all four volumes in Media, along with a compressed version of the volumes. A. Vol. 1: A-F B. Vol. 2: F-M C. Vol. 3: M-R D. Vol. 4: S-Z ("Y.M.C.A. / S. A. T. C." on spine, latter stands for Student Army Training Corps) |
