Description |
Set of chevrons and numbers awarded to Wilmette resident Muriel Meyer for athletic excellence at New Trier High School in 1933. .010) GAA patch. The patch is an octagon with a gray background of wool felt, with the letters "GAA" (Girls Athletic Association) in kelly green. The backing fabric is an off-white, stiffened cotton. The letters are stitched with a machine chain-stitch, visible on the reverse. .011) "1933" in felt numbers. This is a set of numerals which have been stitched together at the top by the owner. There are four numbers, each with a gray background, shaped as the number. Each numeral then has a layer of green felt on the top. The backing fabric is an off-white, stiffened cotton. The numbers are strung horizontally. .012) "1933" in felt numbers. The numbers and the sizes are the same as .011, but these are strung vertically by the owner using tan thread. .013) Chevron with a small "H." This patch is a chevron with a gray wool felt background overlayed with green wool felt. Suspended by thin black thread, there is a "H", with a bit of thread for hanging. The "H" made of grey felt. Backing is stiffened off-white cotton. |
