Description |
This is a Norcross birthday greeting card that was given to Carol Steel by her father Frank in 1946, on Carol's twentieth birthday. The Steels lived in Wilmette. The front of the card depicts a garden path leading up to a yellow house, surrounded by blue, red, and yellow flowers. This drawing is comprised of small drawn "x" marks. There is a red, green, yellow, and blue border on the card's front page comprised of a similar pattern. Printed in black above the house drawing: "A Bright and Happy BIRTHDAY". Printed underneath the house drawing: "Especially for You". Printed in black on the right interior side of the card: "This birthday card / is very small / But the thought / that it conveys / Is full of wishes / warm and true / For a year of happy days" Written in ink below printed message: "To my very lovable daughter / on her twentieth birthday. / Dad. / June 5, 1946".
