Description |
Lawrence Knobel ledger for Wilmette milk deliveries from Spinney Run Farms for June 1941. Account book is bound in green cloth with printing on cover: "The / Milkman / Spinney Run Farms / Libertyville, Illinois." Below the title is space for "Month of" ("June 41") and "Route No." ("15"). The inside cover and flyleaf indicate that these pre-printed books were made for dairymen by the Dairy Route Supply Co. of Chicago. Written on flyleaf: "Lawrence S. Knobel / 1318 Wilmette Ave. / Wilmette -- Phone Wil 4489." Inside are the milk-delivery details for the month for each Wilmette customer, with the name and address at the top of each page, followed by the quantity of milk and cream wanted and the amount charged for them. A loose card inserted in the book reads, "Due to the increase in price paid farmers for milk our prices on milk will be" and then goes on to list them, effective July 1, 1934, and signed "Lawrence Knobel." |
