Description |
Menu from Depot Nuevo, a Mexican restaurant and tequila bar open for business in downtown Wilmette from 2008 to 2023. Includes four pieces. The largest (a) is a four-page dinner menu in a clear plastic menu cover/folder with black edges and gold-colored metal corners. The first page lists margaritas and other cocktails, and the back lists tequilas available as 1- or 2-ounce pours. In the lower right corner, the menu is dated "8/2023." Food items and prices are listed inside. Depot Nuevo's last night of service was Saturday, August 12, 2023. In a separate menu cover are two supplementary menus (b). Facing one side of the cover is a wine list, draft and bottled beer lists, and one "Special Cocktail." Facing the other side is a "Kids' Menu," dessert menu, and non-alcoholic drink list. Two uncovered, unlaminated paper menus from earlier in Depot Nuevo's history are included with the menu from the restaurant's final days (a-b). Both the food, tequila, and margarita/cocktail menu from "6/2017" (c-d) and wine list from "6/2021" (e) show a more extensive selection than what was offered when the Garrisons were preparing to close the business for good. Depot Nuevo was the second downtown Wilmette restaurant owned and operated by Ann and Rob Garrison. The Mexican restaurant's name referenced its historic location: the relocated 1874 train depot, where Depot Nuevo was open for business from 2008 to 2023. |
