Description |
Black paper-covered pipe case, wooden pipe bowl and celluloid stem. .007A-B) Pipe in two pieces. (A) is the pipe bowl and is made of wood. The pipe bowl has been much used and has tobacco residue within. The pipe stem has broken off. (B) Pipe stem. The pipe stem is made of amber-colored material. It is curved and hollow. One end would have been attached to the bowl and the other is the mouth portion. .007C) Case. The case is shaped like a pipe and covered with black textured paper to look like thin leather. The case is hinged along the edge of where the pipe bowl rests. The inside of the case is lined pale yellow cotton plush. Metal push clasp. Off-white oval sticker within printed in black: "GENUINE / Real Amber / Meerschaum." See note. Note: The bowl is actually wood, perhaps maple. The stem is actually celluloid or other resin. I feel the pipe within the case is a replacement. |
