Description |
Pair of deep red leather cowboy boots for a young child. Left and right cowboy boots made from textured leather dyed deep red. The boots have a scalloped top with a boot pull on either side. There is decorative stitching in an open loop pattern. On both boots, in a perforated silhouette near the top, is the outline of a man in a cowboy hat. Stitching across vamp. Layered wood and leather sole without an arch. On sole bottom: "Step Master / SHOES FOR / CHILDREN." The inside of the boots are unlined. This pair of cowboy boots was most likely purchased for Charles Textor (b. 1948) to wear. The Textor family owned the home at 464 Highcrest Drive in Wilmette from about 1951 until 1987. The boots may also have been worn by John Textor (b. 1953). The Textor girls, Alex (b.1951) and Medwin (b. 1952), may also have worn the boots. |
