Description |
Multi-colored sequin-encrusted jacket. The jacket is made of thousands of multi-colored plastic sequins on a silk outer shell. The shell is not visible as the sequins are thickly applied. The sequins are placed in squares of one color of sequins, while each square is outlined with other colors of sequins. Where squares meet, there are small boxes of black sequins. The jacket has a round neck, long straight sleeves and center front opening. Small black hooks and eyes close the jacket. The lining is black polyester and there are shoulder pads (one missing and replaced with a blue denim one for exhibit purposes). Woven white and black labels at back neck edge. Uppermost label: "Marshall Field's." Below: "MADE IN INDIA / S / R.N. 17730 / OUTER SHELL / 100% SILK / LINING / 100% POLYESTER." This jacket was worn to parties and formal occasions in and around Wilmette by Marilyn (Mimi) Iams of 2319 Greenwood Ave. |
