Christmas ornaments circa 1875. Each ornament is 13 cm. long. A 4 cm. coil made of two strands of wire is at the top. The wires separate, and each piece ends in a gold-painted clay ball, 1.5 cm. in diameter. A candle was placed in the coil, and the gold balls acted as weights to hold it upright when placed over a tree branch.

Metal cowbell, c. 1880. The cowbell is made of iron, either hammered or of sheet goods, and is shaped into a flattened oval. At top is a handle, or the place where the bell would be attached to the collar around the cow's neck. The clapper is a metal nut on twisted metal wire.
